Engineering

Onboard Computer Lead Engineer

UNSW Austronauts · 2026–present

I lead a five-person undergraduate team developing the onboard computing subsystem for a 3U CubeSat. My work spans subsystem requirements, hardware interfaces and integration with the satellite’s power, communications, attitude control, payload and mission control teams.

We develop embedded software in C and FreeRTOS for the MSP430FR5994-based Eddie onboard computer, covering command and data handling, packet communication, fault handling and watchdog behaviour.

Selected projects

UBL SaaS Integration Platform

University project · Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS

Developed a SaaS application around Universal Business Language data structures, integrating AI-enabled workflows and Salesforce. Implemented storage using PostgreSQL and Amazon S3, with deployment through AWS Elastic Beanstalk.

Received a written recommendation from the course lecturer in recognition of the project’s quality.

Autonomous Maze-Mapping Robot

University project · ROS 2, Raspberry Pi, C++, Python

Developed an autonomous robot that navigates and maps a maze, recognises visual markers using OpenCV, and places them on the map. Integrated sensors, motor control and navigation across ROS 2 nodes, including SLAM and A* navigation.

Achieved a course mark of 94 in Robotic Software Architecture.

Dungeon Master CLI

Personal project · Python, REST APIs

Built a command-line application for managing Dungeons & Dragons encounters, rolling dice and creating characters. Integrated five public APIs for names, shops, rules and monster artwork.

Also built tools to import and transform character and game data from D&D Beyond into Foundry Virtual Tabletop.
